Do systemic corticosteroids help psoriasis? Although treatment with systemic corticosteroids rapidly clears psoriasis, the disease usually “breaks through,” requiring higher doses of corticosteroids. If systemic corticosteroid treatment is withdrawn, the psoriasis usually relapses and may worsen. This “rebound” worsening of psoriasis may even result in a severe flare of erythrodermic (total body) or generalized pustular psoriasis. |
