There are many hundreds of differential diagnoses in dermatology. This section has looked at:
- Those conditions that are commonly seen but yet do not fit neatly into any of the other sections, e.g. rosacea and pityriasis rosea;
- Those common, uncommon conditions such as bullous pemphigoid and vitiligo.
Careful assessment of skin signs and symptoms is required to ensure correct diagnosis. This will increasingly become a nursing role as nurse practitioners and nurse prescribers become more common place.
