Lichen striatus develops rapidly over a period of weeks. Pruritus is common, but may be minimal. Spontaneous resolution within several months is characteristic. Patients with minimal pruritus require only reassurance. Recalcitrant or intensely pruritic cases may respond to topical corticosteroids.
