What is the mechanism of action of acitretin? As with the other retinoids, the mechanism of action is not known. Acitretin’s clinical and histologic effect on psoriasis and disorders of keratinization suggests normalization of keratinization. The therapeutic response of pustular psoriasis, pustular eruptions of the palms and soles, and subcorneal pustular dermatosis, suggest that this drug also modifies neutrophil function. |
