Yes. Close relatives of the human bedbug often inhabit the nests of birds or bats (Fig. 34-9) that are located in the attic or eaves of homes. They may bite humans, particularly if the natural host leaves the nest. In fact, bird or bat bugs are much more common than human bugs.
