Why do the tick bites often go unnoticed?

The nymphal form of the tick is the most common type to bite humans and is roughly the size of the dot on the letter i on this page. In addition to the small size, the bite is painless, due to the tick’s salivary secretion of anesthetic, anticoagulant, and cement.
