List the classic triad of congenital rubella syndrome (CRS). • Congenital cataracts • Deafness • Congenital heart malformations The syndrome also includes microcephaly, microphthalmia, and intrauterine growth retardation. It is important to follow at-risk infants as two thirds of infants with CRS may be asymptomatic at birth. Most will develop sequelae within the first 5 years of life. Maldonado Y: Rubella.
