What if the patient is noncompliant with pimozide treatment?

It is often difficult to convince a patient with delusions of parasitosis to take medication. Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) is very helpful in relieving extrapyramidal symptoms and often helps prevent patients from discontinuing their medication.
