What are cryoglobulins? Cryoglobulins are abnormal circulating IgG and IgM immunoglobulins that precipitate at low temperatures and redissolve at 37° C. Cryoglobulins are frequently found in patients with paraproteinemias, such as multiple myeloma and macroglobulinemia. Mixed cryoglobulinemia, with more than one antibody class involved, has been reported in systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, Sjögren’s syndrome, and hepatitis B and C infection.
