Sebaceous hyperplasia is the most common benign sebaceous neoplasm. The lesions present in middle age and increase in number in the elderly. They present as asymptomatic, solitary or multiple yellow or yellowish-white papules that frequently demonstrate a central dell (Fig. 59-8). Increased numbers of lesions are seen in patients with
Muir- Torre syndrome (sebaceous gland tumors associated with internal malignancy) and in transplant patients. Treatment options include no treatment, intralesional electrodesiccation, pulse dye laser, and shave removal.
