Are there any differences between the nail pits of psoriasis and alopecia areata?

Nail pits are the most common finding in psoriasis and are generally deep, large, and randomly placed. The nail pits in alopecia areata tend to be small and uniform and classically arranged in a “cross-hatched” or geometric pattern.
