Does glucose control affect necrobiosis lipoidica diabeticorum?

It is unclear whether tight glucose control changes the appearance or clinical course of the disease. Multiple studies have suggested that there is no effect, but Cohen et al conclude that tighter glucose control might prevent presentation of the lesions.
